GC Lymberpa S.A. is the first and oldest today, transport organization in Greece being established as G.S.Transport and operating in the field of International Transport since 1859. Back then the company was specializing on Maritime Transport. After the invention of the Automobile (1861) and the Airplane (1903), the Company expanded to cover these, new at that time, emerging means of transportation (road freight and air freight, respectively). As it regards Airfreight in particular, the Company was the first to introduce professional air freight in Greece – back in the 1960’s – when it first imported and applied the use of air freight containers (the predecessors of our known today ULDs). Further, the Company’s IATA license, is the oldest still operating in Greece today. In spring 1963 (01/04/63), the Company came to the possession of the family of John Charalambidis, and the name of the Company was changed to it’s today form.
